Introducing your children to yoga when they are young can set them up for life. Drop into a session in the YogaBeez Children’s Yoga Studio at the OM Yoga Show for classes specially designed with children in mind.
- Yoga is inclusive
There are no winners and losers in yoga - it’s an inclusive practice that is suitable for all, without focusing on achieving a new level of ability. This is especially important for children who don’t excel academically or don’t enjoy competitive sports.
- Yoga boosts confidence
Practicing yoga is a great way to show children all the amazing things that their bodies can do, in a world where children as young as three years old are reported to have issues with their body image.
- Yoga can introduce mindfulness
Introducing children to yoga at a young age will encourage them to align their body with their breath, and bring them back into the moment. A practice like this will set them up for life!
- Yoga encourages creativity
Many yoga classes for children use stories, songs and words, encouraging creativity and imagination as children use their bodies and words to create a story.
- Yoga is fun
From poses that make them look and feel like animals, to breathing exercises that feel good, children can have a lot of fun on the mat!
